Basement Windows

Windows can make your basement appear more pleasing and offer added safety. Large basement windows, sometimes referred to as "egress windows," from Pella of Raleigh are created to allow more light into underground rooms than the older, smaller, rectangular windows that are added above ground. They also provide a way to get out in case of an emergency.

The biggest difference between basement, or egress, windows and standard windows is that basement windows are required to be large enough for an average-sized person to make it out in order to meet safety requirements outlined in building codes. You’re able to pick from correctly sized casement, sliding or double-hung windows when you put in basement windows. Make sure you completely understand local building codes before your purchase of basement windows.
