Fall Decor for your Pella Doors

DIY Fall Design Tips for Your Curb Appeal

Published on

With fall weather just around the corner, it’s a great opportunity to arrange the outside of your home with fall decorations. Sprucing up your replacement windows and doors with some fun DIY projects can be a good way to begin the season and get in the mood for scarves, sweaters and pumpkin spice lattes.

Improve your curb appeal this fall with these fun décor projects that are easy, unique and on-trend:

Project #1: Corn Husk Garland
This project will add fantastic curb appeal to your home’s windows or doors, depending on where you would like to put the garland. Either way, all this project takes is a few straightforward steps: cut rope to your desired length (outlining your windows or door) with a few additional inches to get a droopy effect, and stick corn husks to the rope with a hot glue gun. Display your new garland to highlight your home access points!

Project #2: Door Wreath
Take the beautiful fall colors and transform them into a DIY wreath to display on your door. The supply list includes a wooden stick wreath, burlap, artificial fall foliage, scissors and a glue gun. This is what you’ll do: Cut the burlap into four 4x4-inch squares. Then, fold and glue the burlap squares throughout the wreath while gluing foliage by the burlap squares.

Project #3: Welcome Sign
Make your home look warm and inviting this fall with a blackboard “Welcome” or “Happy Fall” sign outside of your door. Remind passersby what the season is really about and draw attention toward your festive fall entryway.

While adding fun DIY projects to the outside of your home is a fun way to get into the season spirit, remember to prepare your replacement doors and windows for the colder weather, too. They may look fantastic, but if your doors and windows are old or unprepared for the approaching winter weather, they could let in cold drafts and leave you feeling chilly in the upcoming months.
